Last week we cut our cable.
We do not miss it one bit.
All we recorded were kid shows and sports.
We are not big TV watchers.
Since BYU is off for the summer so are we.
We got Apple TV and a Netflix account.
Streaming is the bomb.
Now we are paying $9.99/month versus the $85.00/month cable bill.
I hope we never have to go back.

Good for you! I think your family will benefit from not watching TV. There are so many other fun things to do!
BTW - please show your before and after table and chairs. I've been waiting to see it!
That's awesome! We've been toying with the idea forever but have never been able to finally pull the trigger. We even do part of our tv viewing from netflix already. Although we're not paying $85 a month - yikes! We have our shows that we record every week that I love. My week just isn't the same without watching Modern Family, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock and Castle with Christian :) I know we can get them without cable, but it just makes me nervous, haha.
We did this about 5 months ago too. No regrets. We have a box to stream Netflix onto our tv and I love that I can watch movies or documentaries in little 10-20 minute increments. I don't think I will ever pay for cable again and I love not wasting time flipping through channels just to see what is on.
Way to go!! We went for 3 years without cable in Atlanta, but now we get 100 channels for free in our student housing at UNC--I'm scared we are hooked now. Thanks for giving us hope we can do it again!
Good choice, Jord, but please arrange to have the BYU games on your television. There are some things which you can't give up - Cougar sports being one of them.
Way to go Jord!!! We've done the same for a while now and love it!!
I'm all about pocketing the extra cash!!! ;)
