It's official

I am a teacher for Let's Play Music.  I'm teaching Lauren's 2nd year class and there are 2 other sweet girls in the program. As I said HERE, it is a great program and since our area teacher moved I figured I'd give teaching a go. I've really enjoyed it and can't wait for my other girls to have this fun experience. I'll be starting a 1st year class next fall (2012) so if you'll have a 4, 5 or 6 year old who would like to participate just let me know.

7 days till Christmas

 

As we were driving this morning I mentioned to J that I was excited to see {in person} the first BYU football game next week.


He replied, "Yes, it's only 7 more days until Christmas."


Saying he's excited for the upcoming season is an understatement.

Why being a Mom rules

Paper dolls

Last Sunday we made these little paper dolls. It was totally fun! We ended up with a Mom & Dad, 2 missionaries, 6 little girls and 2 little boys.





I'd completely forgotten about making paper dolls with my Mom, and my girls loved dressing them up with different papers and embellishments. They made for a whole afternoon of great playing.

Pinch me I'm dreaming

On Saturday night J and I finally booked our tickets to travel to London and Madrid! We'll visit his parents who are on a mission in London and tour Spain where J went on his mission. For a girl who has never crossed the Atlantic this is a dream come true and thanks to my parents and sister we know our kids will be in good hands. Now we need to plan our itinerary, so if you have any suggestions I'm all ears.

                            

Ready or not...

I can't believe it is happening.

My first child is starting school this week.

I am excited, nervous, anxious, hopeful, worried, sad, grateful, and all over emotional.

I know it is a rite of passage, but I am surprised by how scary it is to entrust her to the care of someone else. I told J that "she has been with me my whole life" and that's how I feel. She's been with me my whole life as a mother and I couldn't be more grateful to have such a wonderful oldest child. I know this will be an adventure for all of us and that we'll learn and grow through the process.

And since she's destined to become a BYU Cougar someday I guess we'd better start that education thing sometime. Ready or not...school here we come!

Almost there...

It has been deep cleaning time again. I've been wiping down, vacuuming up, taking out, and organizing in the contents of my house full time for the last two weeks. We accumulated 10 bags of trash, 6 boxes of donations, and 2 full vacuum bags of dirt. After making a DI trip and finishing the laundry room I can officially be DONE. I wish I could say I loved to clean. I don't. But I do love the end result and that gives me enough motivation to do it.
