have in common?
They are all characters who scare Lauren to death. Upon seeing any one of these individuals, she will burst into tears, cling to the parent nearest to her, and ask over and over again to leave. Such are the joys of toddlerhood! :)

I'm with her on the mouse - scary! I guess I should feel sort of bad for "accidentally" walking by Cosmo with her last fall but, sadly, I do not. The reaction is just too great. I guess my teasing skills are still intact.
your post was hilarious! I am here answering your question - I am working my guts out in park city. I have two very intimidating projects and two others down in the valley that are keeping me busier than I have ever been in my life - my brain is about dead. anyway - hope you are well, so good to hear from you! love you!!!!!!!!
Poor little Lauren. Such scary characters to a little goo. Is she afraid of all characters with a mask on? Just wait until Halloween!
Jord- that's pretty funny! my mom told me that I was scared of santa too when I want little. I didn't want to sit on his lap or have him to come into our house to give me my presents so my parents had to leave them all out on the doorstep. Hopefully it doesn't come to that for you! Oh yeah, I was scared of the vacuum too, on or off. Hopefully Lauren isn't THAT bad!
Well, Rachel is still scared of the vacuum, and hello...she's 14!! I remember Josh and Rachel not loving Chucky Cheese. But what takes the cake is when a little Griffin use to be scared when Daniel would put a brown paper bag over his head and chase him. Griffin was 3--Daniel was 2. Are ya kidding me?
So, I feel kind of bad but that is so funny! I guess you never really know who's in there...
I think it's sweet. I feel totally robbed of having a picture of Emma sitting on Santa's lap and crying like most kids do their first year or two of Christmas. Instead Emma is the opposite and chases after these costumed creatures to try and play with them. I hope one of my kids is more like Lauren and will look to me for protection. Try to take a picture of her being scared, it will be a classic some day.
Great post, Jord. I think that you should have posted a picture of various nutcrackers on the blogspot, too, since L doesn't like them very much, if I remember correctly. It's funny to think about what kids do and don't like, and to try to remember what scared each of us as a kid. I remember a particular picture in my folks' house, where someone was standing in front of a very large plant, and it made her look like Cruella Deville. Every time I saw the picture, I'd run past it as fast as I could so I wouldn't be so scared.
funny stuff. maybe it's a first born thing- as kylee said, she was very scared of many things, but grew up to be quite adventurous- she did go sky diving after all!
