Robertson Children's Fund

I’m Jordan’s sister Claire, a CPA. Since so many have inquired about this, Jord asked me to set up some ways for people to donate to their family.
  • Go to any branch of Mountain America Credit Union (locations here) and give to the “Robertson Children’s Fund.” You can also call and donate over the phone to this named account at 1-800-310-6228, option 0. You can ask to do a “shared comment” when you donate if you would like to include your name. You can also mail a check to Mountain America Credit Union at PO Box 9001, West Jordan, UT 84084. Please note the name "Robertson Children's Fund" on your check.
  • Donate via Venmo using @robertsonkids, Square Cash using $robertsonkids, or Google Wallet using Jordan's cell number or gmail address if you have them. If none of what I just wrote makes any sense, carry on and forget this paragraph entirely!
  • If you would like to donate to the kids’ 529 college savings plans, below are links where you may do so. The 529 plans are held with the state of Utah. There is a tax deduction available for 529 plans to Utah residents, but unfortunately that is only for account owners’ contributions, so will not be available to anyone who donates here. Each child has her/his own account and the money can only be used for college-related expenses when they reach that point.
  • Lauren

Please note: if you would like to contribute to all four children's accounts at the same time and choose the "Online" gifting option from the links above, after you enter all your information, you can then enter the gift codes for the remaining three siblings at once at the very bottom under "Add additional gift code." The kids' codes are: LZBJNT (Lauren), 0R5684 (Ellie), 40UNSQ (Ada), and C26JIG (Thomas).

    • Mail a check made out to Jordan Robertson to me. If you don't have my address, you can email me at wowclaireh AT yahoo DOT com and I will provide it to you.
    •
    • Donate by debit or credit card via PayPal using the yellow Donate button below, or to the right on the sidebar of this blog.

    •
Jordan will save the money for her four children’s marriage, college, and LDS mission funds (hopefully those events do not occur in that order), unless otherwise specified by you. If you would like to learn more about LDS/Mormon missionaries, please read here.

This is simply a means for the many who have asked for a way to help financially to do so. Please also let this be motivation for you to have short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and rainy-day savings in place now, should you ever encounter a similar scenario in your life. All money will go to a trust account set up with Jordan as the trustee.

Please note that any money you give is not tax deductible but is very appreciated. For 2016, one person can give any other person up to $14,000 and not have to pay gift tax on it. So, be sure to keep your donation under this amount and it will be safe from being taxable to you or Jordan by your state and the IRS.

If you have any questions, please contact me at wowclaireh AT yahoo DOT com. Thank you so much for all you have done for Jord and Jake the past two years and for your donations to their family. I couldn’t ask for a better sister and brother-in-law.

Thanks Claire. This is great information, and I'm so glad to feel like there's something I can do to help. And P.S., I love your sense of humor even when you're not trying to be funny :)

Matt is spot on. Jake and Jordan have been exemplary in managing their finances all along in such a way that they have been able to cover their immediate needs by pre-planning for such a contingency as this in their lives. That planning has payed off these past two years as Jake has become disabled. He has taken care of his family in every way possible and has yet again set a great example, this time in how to be self-sufficient. I'm so proud of them. Thanks CPA Claire for using your skills to help the Robertson family.

Thanks,Claire, for your thorough and competent handling of this, and for setting up so many ways in which people can help. There are many who have wanted to help, but have not known just how to do so, and you have provided a way for them to help. We love you, we love the Robertsons, and thank you for your help.
