Every few months I get the itch to make something with my hands. I think it comes from watching my mom work on different projects and create things and I definitely love having a creative hobby. This month I got on a sewing kick and made a linen skirt for myself and used the scraps to make one for L, (E didn't get one only b/c I ran out of scraps),

and I finally printed out some snapshots and made some picture boards to hang them on.

I think my creative cup is filled for now, but I'm sure I'll get the itch again.
And here are my little shoppers, driving me around at the grocery store!

Wow, I'm very impressed. The skirts look great! The picture boards are nice too. What are you going to put in the jars? Your little drivers are taking good care of you.
you both looked so cute on sunday! So talented!! The cart picture is the cutest ever they are so happy :)
Great work as a seamstress, Jord! What a good way to get the creative juices flowing, and to have mother and daughter look-alike dresses. I loved the pictures of the shopper girls, too. Thanks!
Wow! Those are beautiful skirts!! I love the Family written over your two picture boards too. You are good when you get your creative bug!
I'm impressed as well! I hope to one day be able to do stuff like that.
Jor-I love the skirts! You are so cute. Roger bought me a sewing machine, but I have for first learn how to use it.
I can't believe Ellie is big enough to sit in the car! She looks so cute and happy to be in there, it's adorable. My girls last like 10 minutes in there before they're fighting with each other and I'm bribing them with a free cookie from the bakery. Little stinkers ;)
Also, such cute skirts and picture boards! I am so not crafty and totally admire those who are :) Cute, cute, Jord!
I love those carts!!! I remember the days of loading my 3 kids to the store and having to fit them and all the groceries in one regular cart. No good!
When are you going to start doing stitchery again??? It's interesting to me how I get on creative kicks for awhile, but then get off them for awhile too. I've been off for quite a few years, but might just need to find something to do now that winter is coming
The skirts are adorable!
Happy Birthday yesterday...I hope you guys had fun at dinner! We missed you at book club...there is always next month.
Mom- I made raspberry jam from the Utah fruit shipment. My friend Lyndzee taught me how and it was delicious!
Thanks Kristine! You are too kind. How are things on your house???
JL- I can't wait to see some of your sewing masterpieces!
Leemo- I forgot about the stitching...I still need to finish the Christmas wall hanging...and I think you've given me the inspiration to start again.
Thanks Christen, dinner was fun, but I'm sure book club was too!
So cute! Good job!
And that pie is so beautiful! That reminds me of a recipe I made once that was a "peaches and cream" pie with a lattice top. I'd forgotten about it, but it was probably my favorite pie of all time.
P.S. Can you tell, I'm procrastinating from the tomatoes...aaah!
Love the skirt you guys are wearing, good job J!! your girls are surely cute as ever.
What I want to know is when do you have time?
katie- Time...good question. When do you have time to do what you want? I get some stuff done during nap time when I ensure that both girls go down at the same time, and then I usually stay up until 11:30 or midnight, even though I should probably be in bed!
jord - awesome skirts - i haven't sewn in YEARS!!! looks like its time to get the machine oiled!
Cute skirts! I am not that daring..creative now and then, but not daring enough to make a skirt. I love it..you can make me one next time you get the 'itch' I totally know what you mean about printing off pictures..I guess we think since we have digital we are good with them on the computer..probably should go and print off about a thousand pictures!
