Dear friends

I am sitting here at 10:58 at night crying tears of gratitude.

Yesterday and today I have been going through my email inbox and attending to things I put off for a long time.

And in the process I came across a document put together by our dear friend Barbara T. with emails she received from so many of our dear Phoenix friends as Jake was dying.  I remember her sending it months ago but did not read it until tonight.

And as I read each email, each kind offer to help, each desire to be of service, each broken heart for our suffering I could not hold back my emotions.

It is completely overwhelming to be loved so much by so many.

Oh dear Phoenix friends you were so good, so kind and so helpful to us in our desperate time of need and your beautiful words and desires to help moved me deeply tonight. Thank you for all you did for Jake and for me and for our children and our families in that difficult time.

And thank you to everyone near or far who offered prayers, wept and pleaded for our family as Jake left this mortal existence. I know that document is reflective of the love, hope and prayers of many others who knew of our circumstance and felt for our loss.

I cannot even put into words the gratitude I feel for each one of you and for your love that enveloped us. I can only witness that your love was truly Godlike and as sustaining as the air we breathed.

Well did John observe: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Thank you for knowing Him.

And for loving us.
