We went in on Thursday for Jake's follow up MRI.

Unfortunately, they found a new tumor a few centimeters in front of his previous one. Jake will go in for surgery at St. Joes on Monday morning. The tumor is located in the anterior cingulate gyrus and is very small, about the size of a marble, and completely round. The doctor may have to make a new incision, but the surgery is less complicated than his first one and they anticipate being able to remove the tumor without complications or deficits.

We are so sad that Jake has to have another surgery so soon, but we are hopeful that they will be able to remove and treat this new growth and that Jake will continue to function without neurological deficits.

We will be fasting and praying for Jacob this weekend. Specifically, we are praying that the surgery will be successful, that the surgery will remove the tumor, that Jake's body, skull, and brain will be strong enough to endure another operation, and that Jake will be able to wake up and, like after his first surgery, not suffer any neurological deficits.
