Sort of lately

I don't know why, but I feel like I've been running from one thing to the next since Christmas. It's been nice to have so much going on, but some days I miss having a care free afternoon to just hang out. When I had 3 under the age of 4 at home, afternoons were so long, but now I miss those open ended days. I guess the lesson for me is to appreciate what you have at the moment and look for the opportunities in your current situation.

The walls are up on the Ph*enix temple. It is a beautiful building and we love checking out its progress.

Shockingly,

J and I were in a fender bender last month on the freeway. He rear ended someone who just kept driving, but our hood ended up like this. Thankfully it was repairable and looks as good as new.

We've had many opportunities to use our fireplace and love the feeling of a cozy fire. We do need a chimney sweep though because sometimes the house smells like smoke for a few days afterward.

One day while driving down the road, I saw a man taking his camel for a walk. You know, an everyday occurrence.

I love Lauren's dream and think she is being properly inculcated. Living by these precepts would really benefit the world.

Ellie has amazing hair and after a night in sponge rollers she had beautiful bouncy curls for church. She is a girl who doesn't really love having her hair styled (hence the bob cut), but lately she's branching out to try more styles and letting her hair grow longer.

We love our "winter" weather and J has taken advantage of the opportunity to teach and take his girls golfing. We're not sure if they love the sport or the time with him, but either way they're out there swinging.

J and I did the Dr. Oz cleanse a few weekends ago. It wasn't too horrible, but I can't tell you how much I was craving bread. I've decided to go sugar free until Easter, and for a girl who loves sugar, this is a serious commitment. I'm 2 weeks in and going strong. Just don't come to my house with any gummy worms.

Lauren's dream is definitely something to keep for her scrapbook. What a sweet heart she has! Ellie does have fantastic hair. I've noticed your super busy schedule but you know it is because you're such an important person! ;) Loved being updated on your fun family!

I liked Lauren's I had a dream speech, and her handwriting is really good. I love Ellie's bouncy curl's! ( I wish MY hair would do that - maybe I should try sponge rollers...) How exciting about the temple there! I'm excited to watch the progress on the Fort Collins Temple (if they can ever make it to ground breaking)

Good post, Jord, and thanks for the pictures. You come by liking a fire naturally, from the Griffin side. Yevon loves fires, and they are nice, but the smoke smell afterward takes some getting used to. Lauren's dream paper was excellent, if we can say so ourselves. Love Ellie's hairdos. Good luck on the sugar ban. It will be hard. Love you.

Lauren's " I have a Dream" paper is amazing. She expresses herself so well and her handwriting is very neat...I love seeing that we buy our girls the same clothes. I think 3 same items in this post.
