An empty pool is an excuse to play

I love things that are unusual, out of the ordinary, or provide a change of pace. When we found a section of our pool that needed work, it provided a great day of play in an empty pool. It hadn't been emptied since Lauren was 2 and we loved eating lunch, sliding, relaxing, climbing, and suiting up to play in it. Because after all, a pool is really just a big hole in your yard.

That looks like fun. The girls look so far down in the last one.

I don't know why, but empty pools freak me out. I would have a really hard time being in the deep end of one. I don't know what I think is going to happen, but all I know is your girls are very brave! Looks like you're finding great things to do w/ yourself while J's away!

You should have an un-pool party and eat a picnic at the bottom or something. Fun times and cute pictures of the girls.

Thanks for the post, Jord. It is very good to do some unusual, out-of-the-ordinary things. The girls will always remember playing in the empty pool.

I loved it when my parents would fill our pool, it was even more fun playing in 1 foot of water than playing in a pool full of water!! KIDS!! Glad you took advantage of the change :)

Jordan, You are my Mom idol. Mary Poppins, if you will. You are amazing! Those girls are lucky to have you. Your home is always so much fun!
