We followed a friends suggestion and held an un-birthday party in July. It was awesome!
Here were the guidelines:
1- It is a party for no one, and for everyone at the same time
2- Each girl got to invite 2 friends
3- Each girl was in charge of preparing some part of the party (balloons, invites, cupcakes, etc.)
4- Each kid brought an old toy for a white elephant exchange
5- We tried to include a bit from each holiday: we hung our birthday banner, had an indoor Easter egg hunt, did a 4th of July pin the star on the flag activity, ate Halloween/Christmas frosted cupcakes, and a dance party to summer songs.
6- It was a fun, easy, and inexpensive way to turn a normal playdate into something special.
This is definitely a summer tradition from now on!
