Flagstaff

We had an awesomely amazing weekend in Flagstaff. J's work hosts a yearly weekend trip there and we made the most of it.

Of our 14 waking hours on Saturday, we spent 12 of them outside in cooler weather.
We stay at the Little America hotel and it is a perfect mountain oasis.

They have hiking trails behind the buildings, a new playground, a huge pool and hot tub, and a wonderful restaurant. We basically parked it in the hotel and took advantage of all their amenities.

We also like to try out one new Flagstaff event each year, and this time we rode the ski lift at Snowbowl. It was amazing! The girls loved riding up the mountain and were scared enough of the height to stay pretty still. We had to split up, so Ellie was my traveling companion up the mountain, and Ada joined us on the ride down. I loved talking with her about anything and everything and seeing the beauties of nature all around us.

The view from the top was amazing and we loved having this adventure together.

This morning as we got up to go the girls were begging us to stay at the hotel for a whole week. I wish ladies, I wish. I am grateful for even small chances to get away as a family and have new experiences together. I love this family of mine and look forward to Flagstaff 2013.

Looks like a very fun trip! We miss those cute little girls (and you grown ups too). We'll have to skype soon! And isn't this the trip where last year or the year before one of the girls saw some squirrels "wrestling"?
