Here is a little story. One spring, 2 years ago, a twin family moved into our ward. They had a Dad, a Mom, and two little girls. She was pregnant with a third girl.
We went to Flagstaff for the 4th of July. While there, we saw this little family at the parade and stopped to say hello. Unlike us, they were totally prepared to watch the parade with camping chairs, water bottles, and otter pops. Immediately, the Dad offered me his chair and they invited us to sit with them. We stayed for the rest of the parade. We chatted. We took some photos. Our girls played. We shared water bottles. We sweat like dogs.
We took care of each other.
And that has been the story for the last 2 years. We've taken care of each other through a lot. Births, nursing school, sickness, preschool, appointments, book club, dinners, birthdays, anniversaries, puppies, community classes, gardening, swimming, camping, soccer, you name it.
We've served in the church together, eaten together, traveled together, and watched each others' kids for countless hours.
And on Saturday this sweet family is moving away.
I can hardly write it without crying my eyes out.
We are all sad. We are all losing a friend. We will all miss our twins.
But we will ALWAYS be so grateful that they are a part of our lives and that we survived the last 2 busy years together.
We love you G's and are your BFFs no matter where you live!

That's crazy!! I didn't know there was a family exactly like yours in your same ward. And all the little girls even have blonde hair! How sad that they are moving :(
Ah Jordan... I am so sad for you. There family is so cute. I still can't believe all 3 girls are the same ages.
I hate change, expecially when you lose people you love. No fun.
Oh, Jord, I am so sorry!!! That stinks so bad. I know all too well how much it hurts to lose such bosom friends. I'll be thinking of you and your loss and hoping you guys all get through it okay. Waaaaa! Change can be so, so hard!!
I feel for you! There's nothing like great friends who are in the same stage of life as you. Good luck with the goodbyes on Saturday!
Great post, Jord. It is really no fun when friends, especially close friends, move away. You want to hang on to them forever, but things change. I hope you can keep in contact with this great family.

I still regret having my best girlfriend move away when I lived in Amarillo. But you have more in common with your friend than I did. Wow. We are stil best friends with people from Amarillo and Mesa, so it is totally a goal you can accomplish.
There are friends in Oklahoma from law school I still talk to all the time. We have even had some come visit. It was so hard to leave when we moved back to Arizona. I love it here but sometimes get really "homesick" for OKC. I hope you guys get to see each other occasionally! So sad to lose such a great friend. :(
Seriously, friends are the best. We couldn't survive life without them. Thank goodness for blogs and facebook to keep in touch.
