Beaches

No, not the 80s tearjerker, but the sunny one in San D*ego.

This last weekend we spontaneously took a beach vacation, and are now committed to make it a yearly tradition.

It was our first family vacation with just me and J and our kids.

The best part was seeing these little missies in the water. They LOVED the waves.

Riding bikes along the boardwalk and bay was cool too.

We also visited the SD temple and all I can say that it was BEAUTIFUL inside. Totally worth a trip just to go there.

Sand, sun, water, and waves....it just doesn't get much better than that.

Fun! I love little family vacations. Since the beach is so close, you definately should make it a yearly tradition. What did you do w/ the girls while at the temple?

We're thinking of going there during Spring Break, as our Christmas present to the kids. Does that make sense? We want to go to Sea World. I love little kids in the ocean. The girls looked adorable.

Looks like fun...now I want to go do that. Last weekend we took our first trip with just our family...camping up on the rim. Not quite as exotic, but still fun.

That looks like SO much fun! Aren't trips with just your little family the best? I love them :) It makes me remember how much I love our family, and how easily we can get distracted with everything going on. I'm so glad you guys could get away together!

How close are you to this vacation spot? Have your kids been to Disneyland? My kids have never played in a warm ocean. Our is freezing here....oh, yeah, you remember it's like "titanic cold" as you or Claire put it!

I am so glad you had fun on your trip. Our family has always camped up in Carlsbad, just north of SD, and the beach is just stair steps away. You should try that in the future all though the new little one might delay the "camping" part. I miss you tons!!!

How fun for your little family! I'm so glad you had the opportunity to spend some time at the beach. The pictures of the girls are the best! It looks like they are sand, sun and water lovers...so cute!

Looks like a fun vacation with your little family. I liked seeing a few pictures of you prego. I don't know if I ever have seen you this far along. Anyhow, thanks for the birthday wishes and the baby gifts. We look forward to seeing you at Christmas.

Jord - great post. Thanks for indoctrinating the kids as to the greatness of the ocean. It is so impressive, and so fun. I'm glad you and J and the girls had such a great time.

Southern Cali is going to be our next big move. Just thought you should know.

Really the pictures just reiterate the reasons why I want to move there! Cute!
