Reading

I love to read. I always have. Ever since I was a little girl I've loved to just curl up on the couch and give myself to a book. In the summertime growing up, I'd read book after book all day long. Nancy Drew, the Baby Sitters Club, the Boxcar Children, and all of the Newbery Award books were among my favorites. And I would love to still able to do that, but I find that as a mom when I lose myself to reading, things kind of fall apart. I just read this book and loved it. But while I was reading my house went from the picture previously shown to this:

But I have to say that I really didn't care. It was worth it. I don't mind the mess and loved the book. And to any of you out there, who, like me, feel that blogs are sometimes fake, that is how my house looks 5 days out of 7. But as long as my kids are happy and I can read my books, I don't mind a bit!

Can I borrow the book? If so, please bring it. I'm ready for a new read. The pictures of the house remind me of how our house looked most of the time. Comfortably cluttered!

Your house is clean!! what are you talking about! With small children and toys, its a miracle to ever have my house spotless. I clean on Mondays and that day is stays clean for a while. The rest of the week it is forts and legos.

Let's be honest, that's what my house looks like in the middle of the day every day! And it stays that way until the kids are in bed and I can run around for 15 minutes and clean everything up so I can finally relax! ;) I also LOVE reading and totally loved Nancy Drew and Babysitter's Club growing up. My all-time kid favorites are the Anne of Green Gables series, though. So, so good. And my house has never been so cluttered, or my children so neglected as when I plowed through the whole Twilight series. I'm afraid those days are soon again approaching when the 4th one comes out this summer! I am so excited!

I didn't know you were such a reader! I'm a reader also! I'll have to ask you for suggestions when I finish the book I'm reading.

What I meant to say was: I'm perfect and my house is always clean. Just look at my blog!

Jord: One of the reasons you are so smart is because you love to read and you read so much as a kid. I'm sure that your kids will do the same, and it will be a great blessing to them. I agree that much of untruth is reported on blogs, so here's a shout out for the true pictures and your true sentiments. Let's hear it for comfortable clutter.

I think you need to hire a maid. Also, I think I had you beat in number of books read as a youth. Or at least that's my excuse for you being more socially well-rounded later on in life. Your house better be spotless when I come calling! Actually, I do remember hating having to clean whenever people were coming over, but now I do the exact same thing and it's basically the main motivator I have for picking stuff up.
P.S. That book has bad grammar in the title!

Sorry Mom, it is a library book, but one definitely worth checking out.

Thanks Emily....we know how it is!

Sarah- Ohhh...I forgot about Anne of Green Gables, loved them too. I can't wait for Twilight #4 as well.

Yes JL. I'll have to send you an invite to goodreads so we can compare books (although I haven't really entered anything on it yet)

Claire and Pops- thanks for the shout out. I'd love a maid, but would feel too guilty to have one as I'm home all day and should be able to clean myself. Don't worry, I'm always motivated to clean when people come over. Maybe I need visitors more often. :)

I LOVED THAT BOOK TOO!! I read it in about 3 days around January. When I went to suggest it to Lee I was bitterly disapointed that she had alreday read it and not suggested it to me sooner. I loved it way better than twilight. You're funny about your house. When my house gets out of control i just say to myself "well, I was a really good mom today, and that's all that matters." It's nice that kids love us regardless of the messes that pile up.

So this is a very delayed comment as I haven't even looked at the computer for weeks but let me just say you are a girl after my own heart...book and messes, except I don't have an excuse. No kids and I don't read until late at night when nothing should really be changing in the house. I have heard a lot about the book, can't wait to read it!
Also, so glad you are back1

Hi Lyndz
I got my copy at the library, but it is a book worth buying.
