Nebraska and New Mexico

Jake decided a long time ago that when our kids turned 8 (the year they get baptized) that he'd take each child on a special road trip to a BYU game. So this year it was Ellie's turn and her trip didn't disappoint.

So back in September she and Jake loaded up on the plane and flew to Nebraska for the amazing BYU v. Nebraska game, where they won with an amazing Hail Mary pass and catch with one second remaining in the game.

They met up with my parents who were going to the same game and had a great weekend trip with them. In addition to football, they visited three states, took a church history tour of the Midwest and saw the Winter Quarters temple as well as the Nauvoo temple and historic city.

Ellie had her own camera for the trip and I love the pictures she captured of the things they saw and did. Both she and Jake really enjoyed their time together and were so glad to be able to make this memorable trip.

Meanwhile, the other kids and I decided to take a trip that same weekend to see my sister and her family in New Mexico. We love visiting their cool town and treated ourselves to a tea party, a visit to the temple, shopping for crafts, park visits, and some good times together. It was a good weekend all around.

Great pictures of a great weekend with Jake and Ellie. Looks like we all had a great time. I love that picture of you and Claire. That win at Nebraska will be a favorite memory for years to come.

Love the pictures of the trip, and those pictures of the adventure at home. This was a wonderful trip, and I'm so glad Jake and Ellie could come with us.
