He would say that he still looks like a college kid and could pass for a 20 something on BYU campus.
Some may say otherwise.
I love my Dad for many reasons.
He has always been my number one supporter and made me believe that I was better than I was. His mission has been to instill confidence in all of his kids, and I think we are the beneficiaries of his belief in us because it helped us believe in ourselves. He took time to come to our sporting, church, and school events and was always in the audience or on the field cheering us on.
He is is very jovial and a true kid at heart. For this girl who tends to be kind of serious his ability to laugh, make fun, and joke diffused many a teenage time bomb. I am grateful that he doesn't take himself too seriously and is able to laugh at himself.
He is a wonderful conversationalist and loves people. Anyone who has been to his home knows about the "chair of distinction" and has there been peppered with questions from him. He likes to know what people think, what they do, what they believe, and how they live their lives. He has always shown great interest in those around him.
He is a very hard worker. My Dad has great energy and would often sing, stomp, and clap outside the door of my room at 7:00 on Saturday mornings to get me up and going. He'd already have cleaned every bathroom, washed all the dishes, and mowed the lawn by then and was just getting started. He was a diligent attorney and now judge and has always worked hard in his profession as well as his church callings.
Finally, my Dad has a firm faith in and love for Jesus Christ, His church and His gospel and instilled that faith into me, and into all of his children. My Dad always encouraged us to pray, to fast, to have faith, to trust in our Father in Heaven and serve Him. He has a sensitivity to the Holy Ghost and taught me on many occasions to understand the whisperings of the Spirit. He encouraged me to always attend to my church callings and duties and was fully behind my decision to serve a full time mission.
I am so grateful for my earthly father who has taught me so much about the nature, love, concern, humor, commitment, and patience of my Heavenly Father.
I love you Dad and am so fortunate that I was sent to be your child.

That pic of your parents is incredible!!!
Thank you, dear Jord, for such a kind post. I am so grateful to be your dad, and to be dad to Claire, Dave, and Andy, husband to Yevon, in-law to Jake, Rich, Courtney, and Chelsea. I do love my family, and am so proud of the example you have set as our oldest child for your sister and brothers. You have exceeded every expectation we had for you, and I love you, Yevon, the in-laws, and the grandkids with all my heart.

I love your dad! He is a wonderful example of a righteous priesthood holder.
I definitely agree with the part about him being an excellent conversationalist. I am amazed at how he is able to engage everybody from all walks of life in conversations. He asks thoughtful questions and is genuinely interested in what everybody has to say. One of the most remarkable people I have ever met in that regard.
All my interactions with him, have been terrific and I am glad how he has been there for you and Jacob, overall the last year.
I am not sure if this is signed in for Jenny or me, but this is James :)
Wonderful tribute to a wonderful man! He loves you so much. He does have all those wonderful qualities you mentioned and more! Thanks for the fun post to a dear man.
