This and that

At the end of May I snuck in a weekend trip to Utah to train for Let's Play Music. I loved being home with my parents.

J has watched the girls for my two night excursion to Utah and for 3 nights and 4 days while I went to girls camp. He definitely won them over. He was master of the schedule, hairdos, cooking, bathing, sleeping, etc. and kept them more than happy until I got home.

I am excited to participate in this cultural exchange with kids from England, Canada, and Australia. I love getting and sending mail. We should do one with our cousins.....

Summer is awesome. Lauren's been in a Spalding phonics class and Ellie had 5 sessions of summer preschool but it all ends tomorrow.  I love having my kids to myself.

We are trying to have a different activity each day. Arts & crafts, science, field trip, baking, gardening, play dates, and fun. Thanks to Sis. Gee and Family Fun magazine I have a binder of awesome activities to do. We may not have enough summer to do them in.

We must start deep cleaning next week. Sigh.

Having a pool is awesome this time of year and we swim almost every day. We're also hosting a ward swim every week for moms and kids and plan to make the most of that big tub of water.

We have a new nephew! My sister had a sweet baby boy and I have no tips for her in that area. Welcome to the family little guy.

Planning to home make some Mitt 2012 shirts using the freezer paper method. We did it for our camp shirts and they turned out great.

Girls camp was the bomb and it was so fun to hang out, talk, and play with our amazing ward young women and leaders. I loved it.

The Phoenix temple site is open for tours. We went for mutual one night and plan to go back for FHE this summer. Anyone interested?

My garden is dead. I canned 6 pints of spaghetti sauce from it and have loved getting a fresh tomato any time I wanted so it lived a pretty productive life. RIP my best garden ever.

We can't get our kids to bed before 9pm and they are sleeping in until 9am. We are lazy night owls.

I have slanted down eyes and when I cry my tears run down the sides of my face and onto my neck.

Our crib gate broke so this stinker sleeps in an open crib now. You can see how well that's going.

Adios, amigos!

Great little update on this and that. Hopefully there aren't very many tears coming out of those slanted eyes. Loved seeing the girls and loved your visit. Jake is da bomb!

Great update, Jord. I loved seeing the pictures, and hearing about the summer activities. You are a wonderful mother, and Jake is a great dad. I am excited for all the summer activities that you have planned. You have some lucky kids, for sure.

Awesome post! I love all the random photos. Did Jake really do their hair so darling in that photo? Good for him! I would totally be on board with cousin mail if you really think that is something you would want to do sometime. I know Emma would love it. :)
