Happy birthday Mom!

I have a wonderful mother. I have grown to appreciate her more as I've become a mother myself and learned about the many sacrifices and much hard work she made in my behalf. I am more appreciative of her each day. 

My mother has many wonderful talents and abilities. She is a hard worker. She is compassionate. She puts the needs of other people before her own. She can multitask and accomplish in one day what most people take a week to do. She sets goals for herself and is always striving to improve.

She has an amazing sense of what really matters in raising children and what is not as important. Her mothering mantra is "hold tight to loose reigns" and she practiced it daily. She is firmly committed to the church and her testimony and love for the Savior are evident in her everyday life.

My mom is skillful in many areas. She is an organizer. She cooks wonderful meals. She can sew custom clothing (my wedding dress) and has a sense for style. She is intelligent and loves to read, study,  and learn new things. She is also adaptable and able to adjust to changes in life and situations. 

My mom is fun to be with. She likes to get out and see things and do things and always has ideas for adventures with the family or her grandchildren. She loves a good joke and can laugh at herself.

My mom is a wonderful grandma. It comes so naturally to her to love, nurture, encourage and enjoy little children. She is beloved by my girls and stays connected to them through letters, phone calls, visits, and vacations.

 

My mom loves her husband and family. We all know that we are the most important people in her life because she shows it through her loving and constant care and concern for our progress and well being. I know that I am who I am because of the efforts and love of my mother and hope that I can be a mother to my girls just like she is to me.
