Colorado

This last weekend J, Ada and I got to take a trip with my AWESOME family to Denver and Colorado Springs, CO to see BYU play Air Force.

Although the game was a real downer, (J thinks he is cursed because every BYU game he has seen in person in the last 3 years has resulted in a loss) the trip was wonderful and I loved every minute of it!

J traditionally takes a football trip each fall and I haven't been able to go for the last 3 seasons, so it was nice to go along for the ride. We left Lauren and Ellie in the excellent care of a friend in the ward on Friday, and my cousin Kylee and Brody for the rest of the weekend. They were great house/child sitters and we appreciated their help so much.

There many great things about my family, but one of the best is that we all love to get out and do and see things. In just a three day trip we:

Toured the US Mint in Denver
Walked all around the down town, visiting the capitol and the 16th St. shopping district
Attended a Rockies v. Diamondbacks game (again the curse followed us and the D-backs lost)
Went on a run by Invesco Field
Shopped at an outlet mall
Toured the US Olympic training facility
Attended a tailgate party with excellent food
Watched the BYU game thanks to my Mom volunteering to tend the babe
Toured the Air Force Academy campus
Ate great food
Went hot tubbing
Visited our great friend Whitney and her husband and new baby boy in their beautiful home on a military base
Attended church
Got to know the Denver airport while waiting 2 hours to catch our flight home

By far one of the other best things about my family is that we love to talk, laugh, make fun of and joke with each other. There was hardly a minute when something funny wasn't being said or smart (ie: bright and/or alack) comments were being made.  I am grateful that we keep each other real and that we have so much fun together.

We also loved having time with just Ada and being able to give her our full attention. She loved playing with Skippy (name has been changed to protect the innocent),  her one-day-younger cousin. They fought for toys, rolled around, laughed, and tried and pull the others nose/eyes/lips off. We can already tell that they are best cousin friends in the making

P.S. Thanks Claire and Court for the pictures!

that's crazy about the J curse. Seriously- keep that boy away from games! I"m glad everyone had a great time and that you were able to cram so much into just two days- also glad your big girls survived K&B :)
